Q. How should I set up my file for printing?

Print ready files should be pre-sized to their actual printing dimension (including preferred borders), 300ppi, RGB formatted and saved as a .TIF

Q. I just purchased a print from your webshop. How long until I have it?

Typically you’ll have your print in 5-8 business days. Orders are typically processed in 3-5 business days and are then shipped USPS Priority Mail which should take 2-3 days to deliver domestically. International orders can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks to deliver, sometimes longer.

Q. My piece is L x W. Can I add a border to it? How large or small should the border be?

A border can always be added, but it’s important to remember that adding a border to a piece will change its aspect ratio. If an image is 16” x 20”, and you want to print it at 16” x 20” paper size including a 1” border, then the image will need to be cropped somewhat to accommodate the border.

There’s no right size for a border; it’s purely aesthetic preference and up to the individual artist. Some people prefer their prints to be full bleed without any border at all, while others like a large border.

Q. Do you ship prints flat or rolled? How are they packaged?

Individual print orders are shipped rolled in a crush-proof tube. The print is rolled in acid free kraft paper with glassine protecting the image side. Orders of multiple prints are often shipped flat in protective acid free sleeves between 4 sheets of double-ply cardboard to ensure that everything arrives to you safely.

Q. What sort of paper options do you have available?

We have a wide selection of archival papers available. Our house stock is Moab Entrada 290gsm Cotton Rag which has a thick, soft and lightly textured feel to it. To see samples of all of our paper options please email [email protected] to set up an appointment.

Q. I need my print by a certain date, or I have a special request. Can you make this happen?

If you have any specific requests please email us at [email protected] and we’ll do our very best to accommodate you.

Q. What’s the difference between First Class International and Priority Mail International?

USPS Priority Mail International is a faster service that also includes tracking. USPS First Class International includes only “Delivery Confirmation”, which does not track with any reliability, and can take anywhere from one week to several months for delivery.

Q. What’s your turnaround time for printing?

Our turnaround times vary greatly depending upon the scale of the job and what other projects we’re currently working on. Having said that, if you have your print-file ready, most orders of 50 or fewer prints can be completed in approximately one week (or less).

If you're interested in screen printing, a longer lead-time is required.

Q. I want to have an original piece photographed. What does this process entail? How long will it take?

We photograph with a medium format Phase One camera, one of the best cameras on the market. Our studio is set up specifically to photograph artworks, and can accommodate paintings up to 8 feet by 10 feet. We’re able to shoot directly through glass, so framed pieces don’t pose any problem.

We typically require 3-4 business days for photo work, or longer if we’re photographing a large number of pieces.

Q. But do you ship orders to /my/ country?

Absolutely.

Q. You offer photographs with or without proofing. What’s the difference?

A raw or unproofed photo, is just that, only the photo. They’re $50 each, and if you’re having multiple pieces that are the same size photographed, than the first photo is $50 and each additional photo is $40.

A proofed photo is one where we create a print of the piece, and then go through several rounds of color correcting in our color balanced proofing station to ensure that the proofs match the painting in both color and tone to the best of our abilities. Proofed photos are $85, and include a physical print (proof).

For either photo type you’ll receive a dropbox link which will allow you to download the high-res photo for your personal use. At your request we’ll also retain a copy of the file so that we can print it at any point in the future.

Q. Do you offer framing?

Yes! We operate as a full service frame shop and can handle all of your framing needs.

Q. Do you offer fulfillment services? Can you ship my orders to my customers?

Yes! Please email us at [email protected] with your specific needs.
