Color profiles custom created for our equipment.

Since Static Medium relies on a closed loop system, it is essential we accurately configure all our equipment to color match consistently across different devices. Without these color profiles, the output of the same image file on the same model printer will look different. Ink and paper are made in multiple facilities worldwide and each batch (or “lot”) can look slightly different due to minor material and manufacturing differences. To overcome this, we periodically print color targets, which look like hundreds of small squares of color, on each paper type and each printer. These targets are scanned (or photographed) in a special program that converts the information into bits that can be read by the various equipment. When we create a photo or send a file to print we attach this color profile to the print so the computer and printer knows the exact nuances of the colors we are trying to achieve.
